Carlisle to Walton

This section was 11.5 miles and like the day before was largely riverside and lush green field  paths.

Again the climbs were fairly easy though they started to get steeper as we approached Walton.

And we began to see the first signs of Roman earthworks.

The first to pass the Stagg Inn at Crosby -in-Eden found it closed.

So when we finally arrived at Walton the Reading Room teashop was very welcome.

Though we did pass some honesty box wall stalls which allowed us to replenish our liquids.
